FREE School Books

Benefits for Parents /Guardians

The main benefit for parents is that the cost of school books, workbooks and copybooks is not eliminated and will be borne by the State. Parents will also have peace of mind that their child will have the same schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks as all other children and young people in their class. The department has produced an information leaflet for parents which is published at gov.ie/primaryschoolbooks

NRRP Funding

Grant Scheme for EU NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) Funding to schools to address the digital divide, and learners at risk of educational disadvantage.

We used the funding from the NRRP to address the digital divide in our school by purchasing 2 new smartboards and some ipads. The Smartboards and ipads were both used during our movie making with Rathmullan Film Festival. The ipads, are used in SET to allow children with numeracy and literacy difficulties learn in a fun way through suitable games/apps, and they are also used to do the quizzes in Accelerated Reading.
