They also wore their new school jerseys with pride. Well done boys!

Active breaks

Every day the children participate in active breaks. 10 @10 and Go Noodle are very popular with the pupils. They find these breaks are help with their concentration levels in other subjects

In April 2017 staff members attended the Be Active activity programme. The initiative was to broaden the physical activity experiences of school children.

Staff members delivered this programme in school adding their previous experience and knowledge.

The Be Active programme introduces children to fun physical activity in a safe familiar setting. Based on enjoyment learning through varied activity.

Our aim is to improve the attitude of children towards physical activity and lay the foundation for positive lifelong physical habits.

There was NO HOMEWORK for Active Schools Week 2016. However children were asked to do some physical activity in the evening for 20minutes instead of homework. i.e. go for a walk, 20 skips, star jumps, sit ups, go to the park with a parent. This proved to be a very popular and fun activity.

In May two staff members attended a Seminar for one full days' training in Physical literacy through Fundamental Movement Skills. Physical literacy gives pupils the tools they need to take part in physical activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success.

The Junior room was led by our Beactive leader and did a range of games from the beactive programme.

- warm up activities

- stretch and mobility

- relays

The Senior Room travelled to St. Joseph's to take park in a soccer blitz with two other schools lead by our PE Instructor.
